I’m curious, motived and courageous.
During the dot.com boom I began building web pages while at NC State. At home I was armed  with a Pentium 100 dual booting into Linux and Windows 95, and a copy of Photoshop. I would bring my creations into school and unleash them on the web. A recruiter, laughing, once left the following message on my answering machine (paraphrasing): ‘Nobody is doing anything like that’.
I opted to pursue engineering and was the 11th employee hired at a startup. Over my 25 years I’ve experienced everything from working directly with designers to implement their work in a UI, to sitting behind one way glass for user studies. As the industry began to specialize in missed working directly with the UI.
My intention was to gain a portfolio that would get me into UI/UX, working with Figma and development teams. But along the way I discovered just how exciting it was finding ways to communicate to an audience with tools like Illustrator, AfterEffects and InDesign.
From JavaScript to typography, Illustrator to bash, I believe I bring something unique: scope.
